Leslie Phillips’ immortal line was first heard in two films, both released in 1959. To Shirley Eaton playing a nurse in Carry On Nurse: “Ding dong, you’re not wrong!” then again to Joan Sims in Carry On Teacher: “Miss Allcock, Ding Dong!” The line became part of his on-screen ‘ladies’ man’ persona and followed him throughout his life. To celebrate the career and life of the national treasure that was Leslie Phillips CBE, we created the “Ding Dong” shopping bag.
