On the evenings of 26th and 27th March 2006, Angela Richards, who played Monique in Secret Army performed a special show for fans of the series at the King’s Head Theatre, London. Entitled An Evening at Le Candide, the event was based around the songs she had written for the series such as Memories Come Gently, I Bet You’ve Heard This One Before and If This Is the Last Time I See You, alongside popular wartime numbers such as Lili Marlene, J’attendrai and I’ll Be Seeing You, as well as some unforgettable comedy numbers. Angela was accompanied by pianist Jason Carr.

Angela Richards’ performance as The Candide’s resident chanteuse and Lifeline resistance member, Monique Duchamps, was a key element of the series Secret Army. She wrote many of the songs herself and they became a soundtrack to the series, underscoring and complementing the drama. This CD includes all the songs from her performance An Evening at Le Candide, during which Angela performed most of the songs featured in Secret Army, alongside several others.
