Based on material supplied by veterans, Pathfinders is a gripping drama series which follows the experiences of a typical WWII Pathfinder Squadron. Tense and action-packed, the series evokes the experiences of Pathfinder crews and captures the atmosphere of life on a wartime bomber station. It was filmed using surviving Lancaster planes and includes a wealth of rare footage. All volunteers, the Pathfinder Squadrons of RAF Bomber Command flew in advance of bombing raids over occupied Europe and Nazi Germany and ‘lit up’ the target with flares and incendiaries.
