Our guests for the weekend include:
TIMOTHY WEST CBE, SUSAN GEORGE,
JANE MERROW, RAY DORSET, JEFFREY HOLLAND,
JOHN HEWER, ANDRE VINCENT, MARK SHORTLAND,
LOLA LAMOUR and MEL BYRON.
TIMOTHY WEST CBE has appeared frequently on both stage and television. His roles include: Twisted Nerve (1968); The Looking Glass War (1969); The Day of the Jackal (1973), Edward the Seventh (1975); The Thirty Nine Steps (1978) Churchill and the Generals (1979); and Cry Freedom (1987), to name a few, plus theatre roles including King Lear, Macbeth and Iago in Othello.
SUSAN GEORGE is best known for performances in Straw Dogs; Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry and Mandingo. She also appeared in Out of Season; A Small Town in Texas; Up the Junction and Tomorrow Never Comes. Television roles include Venom; The Human Jungle; and The House Where Evil Dwells.
CAROLINE MUNRO is our Cellar Club presenter and host for the event. Actress, model, Bond girl, singer and star of many horror, science fiction and action films including: Starcrash; The Abominable Dr. Phibes; Captain Kronos – Vampire Hunter; At the Earth’s Core and The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
MIKE READ presents The Footage Detectives with Noel and will co-host with Caroline. Writer, disc jockey, journalist and presenter, Mike was a Radio 1 DJ and host for Top of the Pops.
JANE MERROW played the lead role in Lorna Doone on television as well as roles in TV series such as Danger Man, The Saint, The Baron, The Prisoner, The Avengers and Gerry Anderson’s UFO. She starred in films including The System, The Lion in Winter, Hands of the Ripper and many more.
RAY DORSET is a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and founder of Mungo Jerry, (In the Summertime, Baby Jump, Lady Rose). He also wrote the Kelly Marie hit Feels Like I’m in Love.
JEFFREY HOLLAND is well known for roles on TV including: Spike Dixon in Hi-de-Hi!; Week Ending; You Rang, M’Lord? He will perform an extract from his show about Stan Laurel, Mr Laurel.
JOHN HEWER is a comedy actor, writer and producer, who specialises in reviving comedy classics for the stage. He will perform his tribute to Tommy Cooper, Just Like That!
Complete with live musical accompaniment, this critically acclaimed tribute is full of magic and mirth and is the perfect celebration of one of Britain’s favourite comedians.
MEL BYRON is a comedian, writer, speaker and passionate fan of old movies. She has appeared in comedy clubs across London and the South. Mel will perform her routine: Old Movies Saved My Life, a look at life through the prism of her love of film.
ANDRE VINCENT is a comedian, writer, actor and comedy historian. André will be bringing us some fascinating insights into the comedy history of Dorset.
MARK SHORTLAND Member of the Inner Magic Circle, with 12 National awards. The Magic Circle honoured him with the The Carlton Award for his services to comedy magic.
LOLA LAMOUR transports her audiences to the bygone age of the 40s and 50s, performing in vintage clothes of the period.
