Based on the novel Storm Over Paris by Sterling Noel, the film follows a young ship’s officer named Ellis, played by Michael Craig, who bears a physical resemblance to a known criminal. He is sent undercover to infiltrate an international crime organization. Ellis encounters a cabaret singer, (Julia Arnall), and discovers the gang are planning to flood Britain with forged currency. However, he falls under suspicion as a double crosser as he struggles to find the truth and unmask the ring leaders. This well-made British film foreshadows the James Bond style of film-making and is beautifully shot entirely on location in Paris.
