This popular 1957 TV series starred John Hart as Nat Cutler (aka “Hawkeye”) and Lon Chaney Jr as Chingachgook, the last member of the Mohican tribe. John Hart had played the Lone Ranger, as well as acting in many westerns. Lon Chaney Jr., the son of Lon Chaney, featured alongside Gene Autry in The Singing Cowboy (1936), and made many films. The series portrayed frontier America with rugged settlers carving out new lives in the wilderness.
