Laurel & Hardy first appeared on screen together in The Lucky Dog, released in 1921. To celebrate 100 years of ‘the Boys’, a new book, Hard-Boiled Eggs & Nuts, has been compiled, with 100 articles, which include contributions from well-respected authors who have written about aspects of the career and lives of the much-loved comic duo, covering an array of topics.
The paperback book is A4 size, with over 200 pages brimming with rare photos, illustrations, drawings and anecdotes as well as personal memories of working with, interviewing, seeing or corresponding with Laurel and Hardy, supporting actors, special memorabilia, film preservation, artwork, plays, events, magazines, favourite films, location discoveries, music, books, lookalikes, tribute acts, magic, animation, earliest memories, Ford Model-Ts, rare discoveries and much more. It also includes a foreword by comedy documentary film-maker Andreas Baum. Stan and Ollie first appeared together in The Lucky Dog (1921), officially becoming a team in 1927 when they appeared in the silent short Putting Pants on Philip. They appeared together in 107 films, starred in 32 short silent films, 40 short sound films and 23 full-length feature films.
