MEET THE FOOTAGE DETECTIVES

Your hosts for the day are Mike Read and Noel Cronin BEM, presenters of Talking Pictures TV’s flagship programme, The Footage Detectives. A weekly feast of rare film footage and nostalgia, the show brings together a devoted community of classic film and TV lovers. Legendary TV and radio presenter, Mike, and Talking Pictures TV founder, Noel, will be on stage hosting a live version of this much-loved show. Throughout the day, they will be interviewing fascinating creators and ‘behind the scenes’ people from film and television, those who bring to life our favourite films and series. There’ll be a chance for the audience to ask questions too.

MEET THE MEN WHO MAKE THE MAGIC HAPPEN

NICK WILSON
One of the biggest talents in UK children’s TV, Nick is a producer, director, writer and voice artist. Expect nostalgic TV surprises on screen as Nick takes us through the history and changing face of UK children’s television. The many shows he has worked on include Bric-a-Brac, Saturday Superstore, Children’s Ward, and The Mr Men Show.

ROY GOULD
Roy began his TV career as a floor manager on series such as Hi-De-Hi, rising to be a producer and director. He has worked with showbiz legends such as French & Saunders, Kenny Everett and Roland Rat. Roy was a close collaborator of David Croft, and his directing credits include Oh, Doctor Beeching and You Rang M’Lord?.

PAUL WESTON
Paul is a stuntman, stunt co-ordinator and assistant director. He worked on The Saint and The Avengers and the film, Superman (1978). Paul has worked on numerous James Bond films, doubling for Roger Moore in Octopussy (1983), and he was stunt co-ordinator on The Living Daylights (1987) and A Licence to Kill (1989).

LOST AND RARE FILMS, SHORTS AND TELEVISION EPISODES
The day will feature a host of unmissable lost and rare films and shorts, many newly restored and unseen for years – all showing on the big screen. There will also be episodes from classic TV series, long thought lost but re-discovered and brought to life again by Talking Pictures TV. Grab your popcorn, sit back and enjoy these fantastic discoveries and restorations in the plush comfort of your cinema seat.

PHIL CLARK
Phil is in-house projectionist and tech at The Cinema Museum in South London. with a lifelong interest in vintage technology.

TIM EMBLEM-ENGLISH
Tim has always worked with film, telecine and telerecording. He was the last telerecording engineer at the BBC.

TIM LANGLEY
Tim is a broadcast compliance editor, archival film specialist and experienced post production professional in broadcast & film.

NICK DELLOW
Nick is the country’s leading professional sound restorer, working on audio across a range of fields, from music recordings to film.
