A successful barrister with a London practice finds himself involved in a blackmail case after a relationship with a young man. After his friend hangs himself, the barrister seeks to bring the blackmailers to justice. His wife struggles to come to terms with her husband’s other life, but ultimately returns to their marriage. Sylvia Syms felt the story had to be told, accepting the role of the barrister’s wife.
