Anthony Perkins Pre Psycho the Teen Idol Years 1956-58
52 TRACKS ON 2 CDs
Only a couple of years before he found himself cast as the chilling, psychopathic killer Norman Bates in the controversial Alfred Hitchcock movie ‘Psycho’, Anthony Perkins was playing gentler, less harrowing movie roles. He was something of a teen idol figure, playing romantic lead roles, while also enjoying a brief career as a singer. In 1956 he cut a trio of well-received singles and an LP, Tony Perkins, for the Epic label. The following year he signed with RCA-Victor, cutting two albums, From My Heart and On A Rainy Afternoon, plus a few singles, including his US Top 40 hit Moonlight Swim. This compilation includes these releases, plus everything Perkins recorded between 1956-58, the first time that this body of work has been assembled together.
