A darts team from London travels to France, where it soon splits up to enjoy different adventures. Jim Carver (Donald Sinden), who was last in France during the ’40s, goes to visit a cemetery where a friend who was killed during World War II is buried. There he has a chance encounter with Martine (Odile Versois), who he hasn’t seen in many years. Meanwhile, Jim’s friends end up in situations ranging from delving into the black market to joining the French Foreign Legion.
